“Hope perched in the soul and sings tunes without words” Mixed 18”x24” I use everything on this one. Oil, varnish, felt tips, pencil, chalk, I tried to transfer my astronomical chart, white glue, and water... kitchen sink;) It was a pretty interesting couple of hours of work. I wanted to depict an image of hope, building on the ashes of previous unsuccessful life events, ideas, beliefs or directions.

Finished. “Rag Doll and Robot, misdirection” oil 30”x24”.
I got the Idea while gazing out a huge picture window over looking Yachats, on the central coast in Oregon. I was fixated everyday, gazing at the village below as the ocean waves rolled in. On the last day, just befor leaving, I looked up as increadible clouds were rolling in. I realized there is a lot of beauty in the would but sometimes you have to look away from the obvious. the painting is a reminder to myself not to fixate on the most obvious thing, but to try to see the much more complicated and revealing big picture.
